Since its establishment in 1995, Teda International School has looked to U.S. and Canadian curricular standards to provide a roadmap for the TIS academic program.  In August of 2010, TIS began reviewing and updating its curricular standards and benchmarks across all grade levels and all content areas. What resulted was the articulation of three equally important sets of standards which provide the foundation for all instruction and assessment at TIS.

1) Interdisciplinary learning skill standards such as communication skills, creative expression, critical thinking, problem solving skills and others that enable students to be successful in whatever endeavor they choose.

2) Content standards that support the TIS mission to provide quality learning for all students and to develop understanding in content areas that will lead to further education.

3) Citizenship standards that promote good character, ethical behavior,  and global citizenship.

As we begin year two of the TIS Curriculum Initiative, teachers will now utilize these standards to develop more detailed unit plans which provide specific information on long term learning goals (enduring understandings), standards-based assessment practices, materials required, and unique strategies employed to accommodate the diverse learning styles of our TIS student body. Teda International School is committed to developing and maintaining an academic curriculum which provides outstanding learning opportunities for our students, and a clear and specific road map for our teachers.
